Ian Thomas
Managing Director
Ian Thomas has over 30 years as a senior business professional. He started his career initially as a communications engineer within the telecoms industry before moving into international sales and marketing. Ian is the Managing Director of Fatigue Management International which he founded in 2008 in order to develop and market the ASTiD driver fatigue technology. He is a certified Change Management practitioner as well as being Black Belt Six Sigma trained and is responsible for the overall strategy of FMI.
Jim Humphries
Technical Director
Jim is Technical Director for FMI but also holds a Research Fellowship position at the University of Liverpool’s Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering. Jim has overall responsibility for the FMI technology strategy, development and R&D programmes. Jim has several published papers to his credit and specialises in C/C++ languages and Java Embedded Systems as wells as PCB design and digital acquisition systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics.
Mike O’Donnell
Finance Director
Mike qualified as a chartered accountant in 1975 whilst working for what is now KPMG. Mike spent a number of years working in Europe before setting up his own practice – The Priory Partnership, which he later sold to Haines Watts. Mike is FMIA’s Financial Director and has been Ian Thomas’s and FMI’s accountant and advisor since 2002.
Ian Barber
Applications Director
Ian has worked in the IT industry for over 25 years and has a background in software development and platform architecture. Ian brings with him a wealth of experience in mobile applications, programming and IT infrastructure design and development. He is also the CEO of Reach Aware Ltd, our software and application development partner (www.reachaware.com).
Dr Louise Reyner
Director for Sleep Science and Co-Inventor ASTiD®
Louise is a psychologist specialising in fatigue management with 30 years experience in applied sleep research. She assists UK Aviation and other safety-critical operations to develop Fatigue Risk Management Systems. As a senior lecture in Human Neuroscience she was a winner of the prestigious Queens Award for road, vehicle and driver safety research. Louise is also CEO of Awake Research Ltd.
